more about our services:
Aveyron Homes operates a small group
home for 4 young people in Hutchinson, MN. This home is staffed
around the clock with at least 2 staff and often 3 staff during daytime
hours. There are 2 staff members in the home overnight, who may sleep
there.
Activities for the children
include:
A day program- usually school, although 2
of the children are beginning to gain some work experience
at a work site.
Regular outing into the community for movies,
shopping, meals, fun activities.
Vacations planned and staffed by Aveyron Homes,
or sometimes by/with parents.
Medical care and supervision. Our staff
can attend medical appointments with or without parent being present.
We have trained staff to administer medications and a nurse who
monitors health problems a few hours a week.
Aveyron Homes strives to help the children keep
close connections with their families. Parents are a very
important part of the care team and help make every major decision
for the children. It is our aim to help the children live their
lives as normally as possible within the environment of safety and
support.
Aveyron Homes also provides support for parents
who have their children with handicaps at home with them still.
It is our goal to keep these children with their families as long
as possible. We are able to provide respite care in the child's
home or provide support staff for hours determined by parent
and county case manager. This may help the parents keep the
child at home even though parents work outside the home. Staff can
be in the home to care for the child while parents work, after school,
and even nights and weekends, as needed.
